THE SACRIFICE - # 4 in The Enemy series

27/9/2012

So you liked The Enemy, The Dead and The Fear. Now Charlie Higson's fourth book in this scary and bloodthirsty series is out. It will be in the library soon - keep an eye out (for the book, not for zombies - although it might pay to look out for them too...).   Check out the making of The Sacrifice book trailer below.
Higson wrote and directed the trailer himself, using pupils from Forest Hill School in south London. He said: “We took kids from the school who were keen on drama, and a bunch of zombies I got off the internet. I had no idea what their acting skills were going to be like but luckily once we got them on set the kids didn’t really have to act, because it was actually genuinely intimidating to have 30 blood-spattered zombies chasing you around.” The Telegraph Thursday 27 September 2012

Wattpad (www.wattpad.com) is a site where writers from all over the world share their stories. It is an awesome app and website. I first discovered it in the app store on my phone and have become addicted fast.
You can share your stories and people all over the world will read them. They can vote and comment on your stories, and you can do the same to theirs.
There are heaps of sections you can browse through, consisting of: Romance, Fantasy, Non-fiction, Werewolf, Vampire, Recommended, Horror, Mystery, Fan-fiction, Thriller and heaps more.
Wattpad is like an e-book, you can download books and read them wherever you are. Writers update their stories chapter by chapter so the story never ends! This is an awesome app/website for all those people who love to write, or those searching for a good book.

Well done everyone who took part - answering questions, taking photos, collecting cans and money, quiz mastering, marking and making sure it all ran smoothly. Great work the lot of us - and it's fun! We raised $127 and nearly 100 cans for the local Food Bank. Thank you.

This is one of those books that stays with you long after reading. I think this is because the story is so real – unashamedly a kiwi story with authentic characters that have to face genuine problems and learn how to cope.
Young teen Libby loses her Poppa, the person in her family who has been her unshakable guide and champion. Life changes dramatically for Libby and her already damaged family and she has trouble coping with her grief on her own. A new friendship at boarding school gives Libby a glimpse at a different perspective to life, one that might in fact help her healing process.
Highly recommended.
